On Children’s Day in Tajikistan, people of the Sugd Region visited Navruzgoh to rest and spend their holiday. Each visitor returned with different opinions about their visit.

Navruzgoh is one of Khujand’s parks. It consists of two islands in Sir-Darya River. Earlier Navruzgoh was called Chumchuk-Aral but in 2009 it was renovated and its name was changed to Navruzgoh. In the Tajik language, Navruzgoh means the place of a new day.

On 1st of June, the internationally celebrated Children’s Day, Navruzgoh was full of people. Every hour children from villages and other towns arrived by buses. More then 10 thousand people of different ages visited Navruzgoh to spend their holiday. “I’m very happy that I’m here with my children," said Mirzoeva Khursheda from Isfara, “the atmosphere of holiday reigns today in Navruzgoh. Music, different rides, Sir-Darya River...everything is wonderful. I see that everybody has happy face”.

But some people like Urunova Shahnoza had another opinion, “it is too noisy here and there is no sequence. Where are the people who must answer to it? I don’t see them. The workers of rides are robbing simple people. This is full of chaos. People are flinging plastic bottles, sunflower seeds and other rubbish wherever they want. There few ballot-boxes and they all are full."

There are more than 10 activities available in the park, such as, roller coasters, bumper cars, Ferris Wheel's, 5D cinema, swimming pools, and a separate special island for small children who are under 10 years of age. Also visitors can choose to water ski on boats in Sir-Darya River.

Qiyozov Abdurasul shared, “I have 4 children and on this day I decided to surprise them. Rides are very expensive till 5 somoni, but they rolled very little. For example roller coaster costs 3 somoni but the time of rolling is only one minute. It is very unjust but I paid money in order to make my kids happy. They must take less money”.

However children have other opinions. “I love this place. You can find everything you want here. You can see all of Khujand. I had never seen such wonderful rides. Popcorn, kebab, and amazing boxes for playing...all these are great,” expressed Atayev Manuchehr, a 10 years old child. Navruzgoh is a newly renovated park and workers are working hard in order to improve it with time.
